Who
Can Enter?
The competition is eligible to anyone with a stammer (no
matter the severity), from 8 to 17 years old.
How
much is it to Enter? The Competition is free to enter.
(You
will have to pay for the postage to send your story).
What
should I send? Your short story should be no longer than 3,000 words, and must contain the following elements:
-A rusty kettle
-A dented saxaphone
-A familiar voice
All stories must be written in clear English and must be original.
When
is the closing date?
All entries must reach us by 1st October 2008.
How
can I enter? To enter the competition you need to send your story
to:

Please remember to include your name, age, address and your parent’s contact
details.
What
happens next?
Winners will be notified by the 30th November. All the
prizes will be sent soon afterwards, and the names of
the winners will be posted on the website along with the
winning stories.
What
about copyright? Copyright remains with the competition entrant at
all times.
Write Competition will use their best endeavours to encourage
new writers through the awards and their publicity, and competition entrants undertake
to cooperate in this spirit and not, for example, to refuse reasonable requests
for their cooperation in publicity and public relations.
Write Competition
retain the right to publish (in full or abridged) winners or runners-up entries
in any book, magazine, publication or website issued by or in association with
WWS without further payment. Entrants undertake not to make any other use of winning
or runners-up entries for eighteen months after the announcement of results without
written permission.
The Editor reserves the right to edit lightly any
entry. While reasonable care is taken with mss the publisher cannot be responsible
for any damage or loss.
The 2008 Short Story Competition
